The Shibley family moved from Fayetteville to near Van Buren in 1860 just as the clouds of rebellion were descending. The two Shibley boys enlisted in Company G, 22nd Regiment, Arkansas Infantry, C.S.A. in June 1862. From then until Lee surrendered the brothers wrote letters to their “Dear Parents”.
